The Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway organization and it’s byway partner the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce were recently involved in the Sebastian Clambake Lagoon Festival. The Clambake, held in early November at Sebastian’s Riverview Park includes fresh seafood booths; historic re-enactments; Kid’s Zone; and the Clammer Jam, featuring some of the area’s best bands.
Sebastian Clambake Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, organizes the festival, and the proceeds are dedicated to local non-profit capital projects. So far the Foundation has granted more than $675,000 to local charities. The 3,000 folks that attended the 3-day event certainly embraced the event’s slogan “America Runs on Clams” by enjoying all sorts of delicious seafood.
