Byway Blog & Social Media Submittals

If you have a blog about your byway, an upcoming byway event, or something byway-related to promote on our social media pages, please fill out this form. Once reviewed / approved by the FSHP Coordinator, a link will be sent to the sender so that photos or other graphics can be included. We can’t accept images using this form due to technical limitations.

Submissions should be intuitive to the reader and events should be accessible. Please know that regularly planned posts, byway events, seasons, and other items all compete for timing and space for our social media content. Items submitted will be subject to selection, editing, and scheduling to remain true to the mission of the FSHP. Any submittals that are commercial or political in nature will be denied.

Please give us a month’s lead time for your event. We will make every effort to integrate last-minute requests when possible but understand that this becomes increasingly more difficult the closer we get to your event date.

FAQ and Notes:

Why do we have to provide a link to the event or promoted site?

Our social media posts are typically brief with links provided for more information. Web users are often frustrated if information is provided about an event with no way to easily find out the details. This oftentimes discourages byway travelers from learning more about your event.

FSHP will finesse and edit text – byways are encouraged to provide more rather than less information, because rich blog posts help promote both the individual byways and the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of the FSHP website. Our team can then tailor to the content as needed. For example – when we develop blog posts about the Garry Balogh award winners, the best source is the recommendation letter – while these can be long, our team can pick out salient details. It helps the byway community to understand the highlights of what makes each brilliant byway leader.

Blog posts can also work if they are only a paragraph, but there will be preference for more detailed and specific content.
