Florida Channel Videos Featuring FSHP

Since 2022, The Florida Channel has developed segments about the Florida Scenic Highway Program. Some items are featured in their show Crossroads, and some are featured in a series they call Florida Scenic Highways & Byways.

  • Florida Scenic Highways & Byways | A1A Ocean Islands Trail
    The A1A Ocean Islands Trail is a Florida Scenic Highway that runs along the Atlantic Coast of Duval County. It is the only scenic highway with a ferry serving as part of the roadway. The A1A Ocean Islands Trail is a unique way to visit state parks and learn about the history of Florida.
  • Florida Scenic Highways & Byways | A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway
    The A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway stretches far into American and Florida History. The byway features the historic city of Saint Augustine and connects state parks, national monuments, stunning beaches and estuaries.
  • Florida Scenic Highways & Byways | J.C. Penney Memorial Scenic Highway
    The J.C. Penney Memorial Scenic Highway is one of the shortest in the Florida Scenic Highways Program, but packs a lot of history within its limits. Much of the corridor passes through a beautiful oak and magnolia canopy dating back to the 1900s and includes the town of Penney Farms and the Penney Retirement Community.
  • Florida Scenic Highways & Byways | William Bartram Scenic Highway
    Named after pioneering arborist William Bartram, this highway winds through St. John’s county, following the St. John’s river, past Beluthahatchee and Alpine Groves parks and the historic Switzerland neighborhood.
  • Florida Scenic Highways & Byways: Northern Region (Florida Crossroads Segment)
    The Florida Scenic Highways Program was established to showcase the outstanding and intrinsic resources that can be found along Florida’s highway system. On this continuing Florida Crossroads series, we highlight four roadways in North Florida that enhance the traveling experience for the public through history, recreation, nature and scenic beauty.

  • Broward County A1A Scenic Highway
    Broward County A1A Scenic Highway runs 32-miles between the Intracoastal Waterway and the beach. Multiple eras of Florida’s history are encapsulated along the drive including the pre-Columbian history at Pompano Beach Indian Mound Park, modern history at the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, and contemporary history at the B Ocean Resort.
  • Indian River Lagoon – Treasure Coast Scenic Highway
    The Indian River Lagoon Treasure Coast Scenic Highway includes two iconic roadways, US1 and A1A, and is about 42 miles in length. The highway features one of the most biodiverse estuaries in North America as well a multitude of historical and recreational sites along the mainland and the barrier islands. Some highlights to be seen include an Ais Indian burial ground at Old Fort Park, agricultural history at Savannas Preserve State Park, along with World War II History at Fort Pierce Inlet State Park and the National Navy UDT-Seal Museum.
  • Florida Keys Scenic Highway
    The Florida Keys Scenic Highway, more commonly known as the Overseas Highway, is a 110-mile corridor that stretches from the mainland just north of Key Largo all the way down to Key West. The highway is a state-designated scenic highway and National All-American Road that traverses 43 keys. Find out how the community of the Florida Keys formed and what it’s like today.
