In 2015, Visit Florida featured a series of articles about our Florida Scenic Highways. A different photographer took photos of each byway as part of this project, giving us a wonderful window on each byway. Broward County A1A Scenic Highway was photographed by Peter W. Cross. Broward County -- Scenic Highway A1A crosses over the Intracoastal Waterway on the Clay E Shaw Memorial bridge, named after the congressman who worked hard to fund the project for its reconstruction. A cruise ship is docked at Port Everglades just south of the bridge. Photo by Peter W. Cross

Broward County -- Crossing over the Intracoastal Waterway on the Hollywood Boulevard Bascule Bridge to the east will connect you to Scenic Highway A1A where most of the road runs along the waterway in southern Broward County. This this the exit ramp to south A1A. Photo by Peter W. Cross
